Belly Fat: The Cause For Most Heart Diseases
Fat in your body is harmful to your heart. We all know that. But what we don’t know is that if there is a high percentage of fat in certain locations of the body, it becomes really dangerous for your heart. The belly is one such location. There is around 79% more risk of getting a heart disease to the people with extra belly fat than the persons who have fat but is equally distributed in all parts of the body. The problems can be severe like stroke, heart attack, or even death.
The people with less belly fat or with equally distributed fat has a very low chance of having diabetes or heart disease. The extra fat in your abdomen is called visceral fat. This is often seen in persons with a sedentary lifestyle or the persons who are very stressed. As per scientific research, any other fat cell does not release more fatty acid than the visceral fat cells. More fatty acid can have a lot of different worse effects like bad blood sugar regulation, cholesterol processing will be impaired, and the heart function will also be decreased. These are high-risk issues which are the primary cause of diabetes and heart diseases.
Sometimes the cause of the belly fat may be a metabolism or hormone disorder. But to get that correct, you need to consult a doctor as soon as possible. Sometimes it may happen due to the genetic component too. The doctors usually start with measuring your waist. If you are a man and your waist size is over 40 centimeters, there is a problem. As per the doctors, the waist size of the woman must not go over 35, as, over it, you will be open to the risk of diabetes and heart diseases. Sometimes doctors also calculate the ratio of your waist and hip and plan your treatment accordingly.
Along with the waist size, another this which is very important according to the doctors is the BMI. The BMI must be between 18.5 to 24.9. But there is a glitch in the BMI process too as it is often seen that the BMI is showing overweight to athletes who are very well trained and fit. Naturally, to lose weight, you can quit smoking and do regular exercise. Try to maintain a good diet full of protein, beans, meat, and nuts. Try to have vegetables and fruits. Avoid junk food as much as possible. Do let us know your thoughts using our comments section. Don’t forget to like, share, and follow our Facebook Page.
