Satyajit Das is a brilliant craftsman when we are talking about filmmaking. After the humongous success of Painting in the Dark, the control he has over his craft is once again visible in the short film, Dui Prithibi. The story of the film revolves around an eight-year-old boy and his mother. During Durga Puja, he sells garbage and earns a few bucks to buy a Saree and sweetes for his mother. The boy has only one dream in his eyes and that is to survive in this cruel world with his mother. This film certainly forces you to think about the lower class in our country and how they earn their livelihood.
Both Sneha Biswas & Tiyas Dey were brilliant in their characters. Other than that, the story, screenplay, music, and direction is given by Satyajit Das. The film has already released on Youtube, Facebook, and several OTT platforms but not before gaining appreciation in several film festivals like Inshort film festival 2019 (Africa), Liftoff London (London), Dadasaheb Phalke film festival (Delhi), Children film festival (Bangladesh), Internacional afrodedidente (Africa), Lisbon rendezvous (Lisbon ), Nanocon film festival ( Italy ), Chennai film festival (Chennai ), Niff ( India ), Music shorts ( Italy ), Cafalù film festival ( France ), Zero mm youth ( Netherland), and Las vegas global convention (Las Vegas).
