Top 10 Movies of Divyendu Sharma

Divyendu Sharma who started winning hearts from his first mainstream Bollywood film Pyar ka Punchanama in 2011 by playing Liquid is now creating a buzz in b-town through the character of Munna Bhaiya in Mirzapur Series. An FTII, Pune graduate Divyendu started appearing in various commercials and a side role in Madhuri Dixit’s comeback movie Aaja  Nach le. As season 2 of the Mirzapur series is just around the corner, here is the list of his top 10 films.

So here is the list.


Luv Ranjan’s take on relationships and manipulation of men by women in their relationships was very well taken along with Divyendu’s portrayal of a sweet, innocent and honest Liquid. ‘Liquid’ a name given to him by friends because he gets angry and cools down fast gets used by the girl in ‘friend-zoned’ won the hearts of public due to honest and vulnerable portrayal by Divendu.

It was the debut film of Divyendu and won him Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer – Male and our hearts.


David Dhawan directed ChasmeBaddoor was the remake of the 1981 film of the same name. Divyendu played the role of poet Omi who gets almost beaten up due to his sleazy two-liners made people laugh hard. Every time Omi made an appearance there was laughter due to his mannerisms. The credit to the success of this role goes to Divyendu.

The movie was commercially and critically successful along with positive reviews for Divyendu.


The first movie where Divyendu got to play the lead role of Dhruv who tries to woo the ‘Delhi’ girl and in turns loses his car to police seize. The film also starred Jackie Shroff.

Dhruv is an aspiring IAS Officer who takes loans for his car then is unable to pay back. At the same time, his car is seized and then it’s all about that.


Starring Anupam Kher, Neha Dhupia, Manu Rishi Chadha, and many others EkkeesTopponki Salami is a satirical comedy film. Divyendu played Subhash Joshi, younger son of Purushotam Narayan Joshi (Anupam Kher). Subhash works as a goon for a leading politician against his father’s wishes but later transforms into responsible due to his father’s last wish.

The film was not well received but Divyendu’s performance was called highly remarkable. Bollywood Hungama reviewed his performance as “Divyendu excels in the role of the younger son; his transformation from a carefree man into someone so very responsible and full of humanity is highly remarkable”.


Akshay Kumar & Bhumi Pednekar starrer Toilet- Ek Prem Katha is a remarkable film as per the topic it covers and in terms of performance also. To shine in between these stars is a great thing and Divyendu does it so in the role of Naru, Akshay Kumar’s brother. Every time he comes on screen he brings comic relief and is wonderful.

2016 THE END (2017)

A comedy film starring Harshad Chopda, Priya Banerjee, Kiku Sharda stars Divyendu Sharma as Sunny. The film received negative reviews but Sunny’s portrayal was praised.


A film praised by critics and audience starred Divyendu Sharma in a pivotal role of Sundar Mohan Tripathi who is honest and simple. As always he won the hearts with his sincere acting. He establishes a factory which is charged with an enormous electricity bill by private company SPTL. Due to pressure, he commits suicide. The rest of the story moves forward on this point. Although he is not there for the whole movie, he delivers a memorable performance.
